Fat Fanny is based on a true story about a young woman who finds herself involved with Frank Colacurcio and his cohorts as a Feature Dancer. She performs in Frank’s go-go girl clubs located throughout Seattle, Tacoma and Yakima in Washington State as well as clubs in Texas, Canada and New Jersey during the late 1960s and 1970s. Frank Colacurcio was sometimes referred to as the “godfather” of the Seattle area! The young woman came from an environment where she had been controlled and abused by both men and women throughout her life. After a terrible, abusive marriage and divorce by the age of nineteen, she is unjustly stripped of the custody of her young son. She is left without a home, penniless and traumatized. She begins a journey to try to regain custody of her young son and restore her life. As a high school dropout she has few options during an era when women only had power if they had an education, money, family or the support of an affluent man. The only things she had going for her were the love for her young son and her youthful optimism and determination.
