Pia Wade’s life is a book with torn-out pages, she sees things no one else can, and she has weird dreams. It all started four years ago when she mysteriously vanished in the night. One problem though, she has no memory of the incident whatsoever, yet claims she was kidnapped.
But as Pia embarks on a trip back to where her nightmare began, she wishes all her troubles would—Poof!—disappear. If only her parents would grant a little more breathing room because after all, whatever happened that night, she certainly did not kidnap herself. What Pia doesn’t know is that a new door of craziness will open up and lure her to investigate a strange world--our world--only she seems to live in. But that changes once a certain young man by the name of Cameron Jacks enters her life.
Convinced that she's not out of her mind, Pia grows desperate to somehow prove it to herself, if not to the world.
And, the clock is ticking!
Amazing BookI was really impressed by this book. The author’s style of writing is unique that I honestly can’t compare her to any other author I’ve read. Her storytelling is entertaining and the scenes are crystal clear, as if you’re in the scene yourself. And the main characters are well rounded and believable. The plot in itself was clever and unpredictable. I didn’t want to put it down, turning page after page until the end. And even then, I wanted to turn another page. So of course, I will be in line waiting for the second book.
This is a fascinating, well-written tale about a sixteen-year-old girl who has weird visions and takes it upon herself to get to the bottom of why she’s having them. Teens will love this story loaded with mystery, suspense and fantasy, all twisted in a plot that will take you by surprise, and then take you on an adventure that will have you on edge until the end. The setting, the description and the dialogue were so well done that the scenes came to life on page. And I have to say, one of my favorite scenes was the Oprah scene, one that caught me by surprise. This author indeed has a way with words. So I suggest putting this book at the top of your to-read list.
"Ferret...follows Pia's quest for understanding that incorporates typical teenage issues along with the burden of her strange experiences. The writing is smooth with characters that are believable and a blend of realistic and fantastic action that keeps the story moving along, making you wonder what will happen next. I loved the story! The characters are well developed, the action flows well and the fantasy elements are intriguing - and the lead in to a next volume is perfect. This is a great story well worth reading, especially with the promise of more to come."-- Melinda Hills, Readers' Favorite, 5 Stars
"...Intriguing, fast-paced, and mysterious...a great first novel for a series! Wyatt gives just enough answers to feel satisfied about Pia's sanity, but leaves other questions open. On the surface it's a mystery blending the supernatural with a hint of fantasy, but at the heart it's a story of belief. Ferret begs the question of 'which is stronger, the belief we have in ourselves, the belief others have in us, or the belief we have in them?..." -- Liz Konkel, Readers' Favorite, 5 Stars
