In the boys back yard lives a green caterpillar. He has no friends, all the other creatures that live in the yard think his fuzzy bristles will sting. As all the animals watch, the boy picks the caterpillar up, and the caterpillar does not sting! The boy names his new friend Fred. And one day, Fred has to defend the young boy, his best friend.
