Frendyl Krune and the Blood of the Sun
Kira A. McFadden, author
Frendyl Krune wants to be a knight, to serve the amüli people and never fear what lies ahead. At the age of twelve, he’s a long way from knighthood, and when someone breaks into his family’s estate through the notorious and terrifying prison known as the Catacombs, he quickly decides to face his fears rather than run. No matter how bone-chilling the prison is, Frendyl wants to know what happened and how. To make matters worse, Frendyl discovers the intruder who broke into the Catacombs also freed a dangerous prisoner who threatens the whole Amüli Kingdom. According for his father, the only way to track down the escaped convict is with the help of a long-lost relic, a gemstone known as the Blood of the Sun. To find the convict and unite his people, Frendyl joins his uncle Melroc’s quest for the artifact. The Blood of the Sun has powerful magical properties, however, and Frendyl’s father isn’t the only one who desires it. Others, including a thief on Frendyl’s voyage, will do anything to get their hands on the Blood of the Sun. Anything—including locking Frendyl in a vault of solid rock.
