Enthralling and meaningful story

Reviewed in the United States on October 7, 2023

This autobiographical account more than succeeds in dispelling the stereotype of a medical authority in a white coat or dark suit. The author's gentle and scholarly style based in Christian faith comes across while leaving the reader in suspense as his patient’s enthralling story progresses over the years. Tributes and insights gained from mentors and colleagues are graciously presented as pertaining to treating and counseling the hero, an emotionally traumatized Viet Nam Veteran who consented to share his uplifting story. Anecdotes beginning with Dr Khouzam's Egyptian school, a Fulbright scholarship, and continuing with medical school education and clinical experience abroad and in the US are combined with profound literary, historical, and Christian insights. Medical professionals and counsellors in many healthcare arenas including schools and churches can gain from insights on ways to assess, treat, encourage, empower, mentor, share, and congratulate patients and clients.

One of the Best Books Ever!

One of the most wonderful books I’ve ever read. It’s like a movie. It starts with the condition of human science with scientific facts and has places with true historic and political facts. It describes souls sufferings with an explanation of scientific and spiritual reasons. It has the excitement of suspense with ups and downs. I love it, enjoyed it so much that I am buying it for everyone’s birthday that I know.
