A charming introduction to Arthurian legend for young readers, April 9, 2013
By WLP Shadows
I love anything to do with Arthurian legend and this children's book is an original take on the subject. It focuses on what Guinevere's childhood may have been like before she met Arthur and her tale is told in a charming manner, despite a few americanisms and anachronisms which don't sit too well with Dark Age Britain. That aside, the story was enjoyable, with well-drawn characters and skilful description ... and I particularly liked the scenes with the unicorns! I will definitely read the other books in this series.
