And I thought ants were pests...
I will never complain of a little ant problem again. So, the gang is back with some additions and they have revenge on their agenda. The huge bugs are on the move and that makes for never a dull moment. While the giant bugs are killing for food, a past survivor is out to kill anyone who gets in her way. If you like lots of exciting, gory, and terror filled moments then this series is perfect. I can't wait for book 3 to make its debut.

The Descent picks up where Harvest Deep left off. The survivors, good and bad, are in a predicament because all the icky bugs aren’t dead, and of course, mayhem ensues.
Inspired by a true event, that real event is only the hopping off point for a horror orgy that starts in the Utah desert south of Salt Lake City. Caves, abandoned mines, the military and a hazardous waste depot all play a part in this fast-paced thrill ride. There’s also a good dose of creep factor, especially if you’re not a fan of enclosed spaces and creepy crawlies.
The writing was excellent with short, easy to digest chapters. The point of view was third-person, past-tense, mostly limited, with minor head-hopping here and there, but not enough to jar me from the story. The narrative was brisk, to the point, and never bogged down. My minor nit, which was the same as the last book, was that he spelled “toward” as “towards,” the Queen’s English version of the word. At least he was consistent throughout.
Overall, as with the first book, this was an outstanding and fun read, the key factor being that the writing never got in the way of the story. That made it such an enjoyable and quick read. I wish more of these creature feature stories were so well written. I had a great time and was able to close the book with a big smile on my face, wanting for more. Highly recommended.

Once again our friends, Liz, her husband ,and their friend Scott makes plans to re-visit the mine. With some more friends of theirs and a journal from Liz's father they made their move.
The story was very entertaining with lot's of atction and drama. A page turner for sure. You have to read the story to find out why our friends are going back to the mine. Are they crazy??
I am looking forward to book three.

The characters get pulled back into hunting the "spiders" and things go awry. Fun and action filled but the people stay true to their character. A fun second book that i raced thru.
