The Amazon bio blurb for Michael Golvach reads in part, " He doesn't believe in genres and has written many titles that run the gamut from character studies to full-on hard-boiled crime fiction." Now, after reading several Golvach stories and novels, I can assure the reading public this is a true statement. His latest, and perhaps greatest (depending on reader taste and genre preference), is the paranormal/horror/mystery/romance/supernatural thriller—"Home."

The book synopsis (again on Amazon) reads: "Alexis Woods' violent and unpredictable brother has spent his life making sure she remained untouched by other men. When his reckless actions ensure her imminent death, her only lifelong friend must expose his deepest secret to save her. It’s a secret that could put more than just the two of them in mortal danger and turn both their worlds into a living hell." Having read the book, this paragraph is inadequate for anyone unfamiliar with Golvach's work.

On the other hand, a synopsis that included every facet of the story from perfectly hewn characters right out of a small town America, to scenes ranging from sexually stimulating to intense, panic-like fear, to surreal events and finally, the overarching premise (that will absolutely rock your world), would take a small book to completely cover. Golvach writes with a smooth skill that includes enough positional or character detail to insure complete clarity without slowing down the story with too much minutiae.

An especially strong point in Golvach's writing style is characterization; they come alive and are as real as you and I. Whether the character is male or female human - normal or psychopathic, an alien being, a plant or a rock, you'll find an appropriate emotional response for each. In "Home," the enigmatic "Mother" will absolutely blow your mind across the entire emotional spectrum. "Home" is the latest, and for me, the greatest yet from Michael Golvach and that's saying something if you've read any of his previous work. If not, take my word for it and read the book. After you get over the shock, you'll be glad you did.
