I like how the author had every person talk about the backgrounds. My favorite is Dante from Italy. He spoke about volcanos erupting all the time, but residents still live there. Good job.

I was looking for books for my niece. She’s an avid reader and wants to visit faraway places when she’s older.

A teacher friend suggested the I Am Proud of Who I Am: I hope you are too books, as a perfect birthday gift for a 5th grader.

I looked through the series and chose book eight. Each book in the series contains short narratives about countries and places around the world told by a young person who lives in that location. Except for Antarctica, that story is told by a penguin that calls himself the emperor.

The stories are delightful and just long enough to pique interest to know more.

Ryland

Great read to learn about differing cultures, places, and gain inspiration for aspirations. A must-read for parents
