Post-war Germany, 1945. Former Wehrmacht officer and history teacher Karl Wagner ist helping rebuild his ravaged homeland. Wanting nothing more than to leave the horrors of war behind him and move on, the devoted family man is intrigued when a secretive military group ask him to embark on a suicide mission: Travel to the past and stop the First World War.

Learning his best friend has already tried and failed, Karl accepts. Soon, he discovers that there are sinister forces determined to stop him and set off the global powder keg. Forces that might put his future and that of his family at risk.
