Reviews
Ally Tyra, author of Craving Chaos

"Wow! Jeffrey has such an eloquent way with words. The way he strings such poetic and beautiful thoughts together is remarkable. Multiple times while reading Introspections From A Clouded Mind, I had to pause for a few moments to really process what I had just read. The individual pieces have a wonderful flow that help tie the entire book together as a whole. Jeffrey conveys the overall theme of the book well, and it’s so easy to understand the feelings he expresses. This is most definitely worth the read to anyone who is questioning!"

Jamie Layton

"This book is fantastically written. It really does peer into the mind of someone who suffers with depression and anxiety. I myself really related to it. I’ve suffered with depression and anxiety for many years and it helps to know I’m not alone. Exceptional work."

"Introspections From A Clouded Mind is a collection of poems written by the author Jeffrey Robb. This poetry collection highlights the feelings of someone suffering from trauma. A poem based on nostalgia is my favourite among the collection. Life & Regrets, Untold Stories are also nice.

Treasure these moments
I'm living in the past
Treasure these moments
I know they wont last
Remind me of those days
When dark times arrive
Remind me of those days
Of when I felt alive...

This book shows the in-depth feelings of one's inner mind. You will feel connected to some poems as we also feel in such a way many times. It was a short read so I was able to finish it in a single sitting. I enjoyed reading these poems while sitting on my front porch with a cup of tea. Highly recommended to poetry lovers."

The Prairies Book Review

"A contemplative, honest collection…
Simultaneously dark and poignant, Robb’s short collection of poetry describes with sorrow and passion the innermost feelings of someone suffering from mental illness.

In these poems, the protagonist takes the reader on a journey into the innermost depths of his subconscious mind, revealing his disappointments, despairs, fears, insecurities, and loneliness that comes with mental illness. In “Life Story,”Robb explores the tormenting thoughts of the protagonist’s troubled mind (“Has my life story started?/ Am I on chapter two?”).

“My Alien Illness” movingly captures the feeling of alienation: “An alien among you I am/ This body does not feel as my own/ Everyone around is a suspect of peering eyes”. In “Leave,” the darkness within is constant and the despair refuses to leave the protagonist. “Darkness and Light” transcends with feeling, particularity, and candidness.

Robb’s short collection offers a poignant examination into the despondency and despair associated with depression."

Tiffany

"If you experience depression, as I do, it can be helpful to read what someone else who also feels this way has put to paper. A very moving collection of poetry. The writer shares what it can be like to experience depression. I have enjoyed this book very much."
