Ira Caterpillar Learns to Scrump is an endearing tale of a little caterpillar that wants the job of measuring inches through the garden. To get the job he must learn to scrump his back end to his front end rounding his back to a loop.  One inch measured. But filled with worries that he might be late, that he is not brave, or others wil not like him, Ira's scrump is a scritch and his back will not round to a loop. But in the end, through much determination and an unexpected act of bravery in which Ira thinks only of another and not himself, he finally learns to do the job.
