There were several promotional techniques I'd been considering, but I'd have to do some research. No longer. Dahlke gives step-by-step information that shows you what to do and where to go to get the best bang for your $. I particularly liked her opinions based on her own experiences.
"Anyone with a book to promote, and isn't that every writer? needs to read Ms. Dahlke's guide to promotion. A writer herself, she's generously done the research to help other writers SELL. "
Look, if you're new to self-publishing and everything is starting to make you feel like you're knitting with fog, then I would definitely recommend this book. It's not expensive, yes it's 32 pages long but hey, I'll spend the time reading a novel but I won't spend it reading a 300 page 'how to' book thanks. It's humourous and written by someone who's clearly walked the frustration mile along with the rest of us. From blurbs and synopsis to social media, it's a comprehensive and factual guide to get you started, or improve what you're already doing. The quote that actually made me snort was this one, because it's exactly what I got when I started up my Twitter account.
"3. Look at profiles before you follow or follow back or you're going to get gang-bangers and 'hos from Jersey who want to take your money."
Put it this way, I'm very glad I read it and will be going back to it again and again.
Every writer should have this book--because Dahlke has actually used every tips she gives and included the ones that worked for her--this is truly the definitive book on promotion.
