Klara the Flying Cow gives a small insight into the quaint Dutch way of life and by using descriptive language I try to paint pictures with words. Humour is an important aspect of my stories which seems to appeal to children as well as adults, but my book is aimed at 5-8 yr olds. In our multicultural world, it is good for children to read how life is in other countries. My book will hopefully also appeal to Dutch people now living abroad, especially in America and Australia, who like to keep their culture alive and as my story is Dutch, but written in English it will hopefully be enjoyed by new generations. But it’s also just a fun story for children everywhere.
