Moby Plays the Flute is as heartwarming as it is heartfelt. We have all felt, at least once, the need to quit when things got rough, and Moby is no different with her flute. While the story teaches the importance of perseverance and hard work, it’s the illustrations that truly make the book. Breathtaking and unique, each page is indeed a work of art. I can’t wait to share this book with my nephew.

My son has struggled with wanting to work hard to achieve a specific goal. There's this need for instant gratification. Not only did Moby help him see that putting in effort into anything he wants to do is important, but he also related to the character as a military kid.

Moby Plays the Flute by Eeha Bhatt

This is a beautifully illustrated children's picture book which teaches the importance of perseverance and hardwork. Moby learns about passion, patience and happiness from a flute which she receives as a birthday gift from her dad. It shows us never to give up and to believe in oneself. The illustrations and colors are splendid. Some of the illustrations were so good that I kept staring at them for a long time. The level of finesse, detail, colors, shades and creativity in each illustration is immense. The facial expressions of Moby and other kids were very cute and adorable. The story itself is very heartwarming. In a playful but not preachy tone it shows how kids can find their passion and work hard to achieve their dreams. It touches upon the sensitive relationship of father and daughter. It shows how dads inspire and encourage their kids. There is also an element of mystery which will attract the young readers. I read it to my kids and they loved the story and illustrations. I am sure it will become a favorite read, a comfort read which kids would want to come back to again and again.

A simple but poignant tale of inspiration for kids and adults—of self-acceptance, tenacity, and courage to face your fears. The dexterity of self-taught artist Eeha Bhatt is instantly engaging; and a delightful; bouquet of light and refreshing colors. The narrative is easy to follow, with an efficient audience engagement hook present at the beginning of the story (“Moby has a problem”). Eeha’s illustrative style is of hardly that of an amateur. She is a master at defining the emotions, feelings, and the interactive space between the characters by evoking a complimentary color palette. The details attended to within the landscape of the visual page is simply outstanding and mesmerizing. The illustrative art holds the audience’s attention for a bit longer than usual, so that the beauty of this work can be consumed diligently.

“Moby Plays The Flute” is a wonderful companion to children’s literature masterpieces from around the world. It marks the launch of a brand new, favorite storyteller!
