MY SUMMER AND THE SONG OF CICADAS took me back to one of my favorite places -- the world of Quinton and his friends. It’s just after high school graduation and Quinton and his buddies prepare for the next stage in life, they try to enjoy their last summer as kids. As they try to figure out their future, learn to accept themselves, they find love, and say good bye, all while razzing each other, pushing each other to grow, and playing one last Dungeons and Dragons game/making one more movie before a whole new life opens up.
My Summer and the Song of Cicadas, is a perfect and satisfying final book in the Quinton’s Curious Mind series. Myers skillful storytelling and character creation feel real and inviting. Once again, he expertly moves between humor and serious storytelling. I have read and re-read the series many times and it never disappoints!
