I’ve been a huge fan of Christopher’s for some time now, not just for kindness and incredibly human nature, but for his keen, thrilling writing. I’ve read all of his books and each time I’m enthralled by his storytelling. No Place is Safe is no exception! You really never know what you’re getting yourself into when you read his books, but the mere fact that they take you on a journey of emotions—curiosity, excitement, discovery—is why I get wrapped up in them. It’s a page-turner! I was always eager for the next chapter in the story and the characters. The mystery, the drama, the backstory of the characters, where they came from and where they’re going, how they come together and solve crime while living their own story, is really engaging and entertaining. You definitely won’t be disappointed with this, and I highly recommend this book, as well as his others!

I really enjoyed reading this book. Detective Sergeant Christian Anderson returns to his hometown - a place with terrible memories and full of loathing - in order to help his friend Cassidy whose sister has gone missing. He is forced to face the demons from his past and the danger in his present in order to solve the mystery. Once again CL Brees writes a strong suspense story that keeps his reader guessing. Things aren't always as they seem!

As quoted at the beginning of the book "the past is never where you think you left it."

I would highly recommend reading this book. It is a standalone, however the prior books by this author are also very good reads.

I'm really impressed with this book. The main mysterious storyline was focused on the crimes in DS Christian Anderson's hometown. DS Anderson returned home, because his childhood best friend Cassidy called him, stating her older sister vanished. His return to hometown uncovers mystery behind the disappearance of Christian's mother. Also, it focused on Christian's buried emotions toward his father. Great work by this author.

If you are looking for a book that has mystery, deceit, secrets, danger, heartache, and revenge... then this book is for you. It is all those things and so much more.

Once Christian left his hometown after graduating high school, he swore he would never return. It is a promise he has been able to keep for over ten years. That is until his best friend from childhood calls him asking for his help.

Christian is a detective in Regina where he started his new life. When Gemma calls and asks Christian to come back to his hometown to help find her sister, Cassidy, he knows he has to go even though it is the last place he wants to be.

When Christian arrives in town, though he has not seen his father in years, he knows he has to check in on Matthias. Surprisingly to Christian, things are worse than they were when he left. After their brief reunion, he decides to jump in feet first on helping find Cassidy so he can get back home where he belongs.

At first the information on where she may be is sparse but Christian refuses to give up. At first finding Cassidy starts to look bleak, but after questioning the right person, it looks as if Christian has hit a sore spot somewhere because he is attacked and warned to leave town. More then that though, Gemma has been abducted as well.

With everything starting to spiral out of control, Christian welcomes his boyfriend coming to town to help, and the fact that the constable in town has finally decided the matter needs to be taken seriously. With each twist and turn there seem to be more questions than answers. And with each new answer comes a new twist I did not see coming.

Will they be able to find Gemma and Cassidy in time? Will they figure out who is behind everything and why?

This was such a good read with twists I did not see coming. I really enjoyed this book. At first I was kind of skeptical but as I read on, I became so engrossed I could not put the book down. Definitely a great read!
