One Door Closes Documentary To Be Released in 2023

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the release of One Door Closes: Overcoming Adversity By Following Your Dreams, a documentary based on the book will released in 2023. One Door Closes: Korey's Courage follows the stories of 4 of the people profiled in the book, bringing their stories up-to-date. Those profiled include Korey Varano, Ken McDonnell, Scherrie Payne (Formerly of The Supremes), and June Monteiro (of The Toys). A fifth story--that of Mary Wilson, founding member of The Supremes, was also to be featured. Sadly, Ms. Wilson--who also was to provide narration for the film--died in February, 2021, while production was shut down due to the Covid pandemic. Ms. Wilson will be remembered in the documentary in a special segment filmed by author Tom Ingrassia.
