OMG!!! OOBA!!! Yes, I’ve always loved to call Jennifer Theriot’s Out of the Box Awakening “OOBA”. My expression basically calls out “Yes!” “WHOO-HOO!” Well...after the first two books...can it get any better? Absolutely! Everlasting begins with a shocking start. A tragic beginning and the secret it exposes.
Ash and Olivia’s love is stronger than ever and they are both determined to get the family through tragedy and heal; as well for themselves. Ash has some explaining to do. Will Tommy listen? Hayden has a long road ahead of him for recovery. Lainey goes into labour. And we’re just at the beginning! I was on this roller-coaster of emotion and I just couldn’t get off...lol...but I had no intention to ;)
Olivia, a beautiful character, most of us can relate to. We’ve grown with her since this series started. She’d led the life of a wonderful wife and mother but that was it. She’d never been a part of the decision-making and it only left her to feel inferior...not healthy. Now she has Ash. Still, she’s her own worst enemy.
Ash and Olivia are soul-mates lucky to have been given the amazing second chance to be in love. Yet, both have pasts that have hurt them dearly. They’ve survived separately. Together they heal. The emotion, the heat, the love and the reality of life build up between these pages and keep your finger hitting that button to flip to the next page. I was, once again, drawn into my OOBA world that I love so much. This story, as with the first two, filled my heart with joy. I cried, laughed, cheered, prayed...I just didn’t want it to end.
Bravo! Ms. Theriot, another successful work of art...thank you :) I highly recommend this ‘feel good’ series. I’d give it 10 stars if I could...
I was so excited, looking forward to reading about how Olivia & Ash are doing, if they set a date yet, and of course how far the boys of "Avenue" have come since I saw them last..... I was in no way, shape or form prepared for the storm of heartache after heartbreak that waited around what felt like every single corner. I can't remember the last time I cried my way through a story....
Tragedy hits, bringing a secret to light, ripping through the very foundation of the Harper family..... Olivia finds herself in crisis as something triggers old buried resentments that have her questioning....well....everything..... and the hits just keep on coming. Just as I think I've sniffled my last, WHAM, BAM, HELL NO MAMM!...... the most unbearable, unbelievable, stop my heart, this can not happen.... happens......
I swear to the Goddess the only time I wasn't on the verge of screaming, crying, or swearing like a sailor was during the erotic romance scenes...... I really didn't see all of this coming and I can't even vent because I'd spoil it for you. All I can say is....
Buckle up Buttercup, keep your nose, toes and elbows inside the ride at all times & try to hold on tight!!!!!!
I SO recommend this to 18+ readers. I also recommend starting this journey from the beginning for a better understanding of what is happening.
I'm under the impression that this is the last book of the Out of the Box series. I don't usually like reading the final book in any series because they usually wrap all the ends up in a nice little bow and are totally predictable. The same can't be said for Jennifer Theriot. You hit the halfway point in the story and everything you believe goes out the window. Out of the Box Everlasting kept me guessing until almost the last page. The only reason I'm able to say 'almost' is because a friend who was reading it at the same time let something slip which gave me the heads up. I'm sleep deprived today. That is a sure sign of a 5 star read in my bloodshot eyes.
