James M. Corkill's Pandora's Eyes comes out as an exceptional tale of science fiction with nail biting incidents, adrenaline surging episodes and breath taking scenarios- it has it all!
After securing an alien spaceship and four alien artifacts Alex realizes that his adventurous days are far from over, when news of two of the four hidden relics' disappearance reaches him. Trying to secure them before they fall in the wrong hands, Alex's search leads him to SV1- a device launched to collect space debris by Peterson and Essex. After verifying it as one of the missing devices Alex also learns about Rita Harrow's involvement as a woman seeking revenge from Alex for her dismissal from government work. After the launch of SV1 and it's other counterpart by Rita, major catastrophes stars occurring throughout the planet, and the artifacts spins out of control, melting metals, and creating unusual echoing effects. Then the story shifts gear to the Icelandic glaciers where, switching on the artifacts has pulled an ancient spaceship from the core of the planet. While trying to understand the ship Alex and his crew makes first contact with an humanoid alien in the ship along with it's artificial intelligence named Pandora. After the first communication many startling discoveries come to light along with their threat to eradicate human civilization due to genetic impurities. Their one last last chance- to negotiate with the alien female Pandora who is mind controlled by the AI of the ship. From then a ticking timer speeds up as Alex tries to save the world from extinction, negotiate for a cure of the spreading infection, rescue his friends stuck in space, and over all- outsmart Pandora.
As the story launches forward it gains speeding momentum to dissipate into various sub plots all the while linking back to Alex's expedition. Starting from Alex's office facility with Herbert, to Groom lake, to SV1 control station, to the International Space Station, to Fallon, Nevada in Essex's facility, to the glaciers of Iceland, and ultimately propelling into space to save the day.
Though Alex is the protagonist of the story, mention must be made of the alien Pandora who in spite of the controlling AI, was brave enough to help Alex and it was she, who gave Alex the cure to save humanity from extinction. In the midst of technical jargon and scientific discussions her apparent love for Alex and her bravery stands out as a warm beacon to the symbol of humanity.
The book has been justly named as Pandora's eyes as it is the color of the eye of a person which determines their social standing in the Alien race and, it was the glittering orbs of Pandora's blue eyes which helped Alex understand the domination of the AI on her psyche which, in turn aided him to outsmart the technology.
The cover of the book is truly beautiful showing the earth as a spectrum in which a glittering eye boldly stares at the readers- and it perfectly justifies to the storyline.
Lastly, the ending of the tale with the comment of opening Pandora's box gives an ironic understatement to the novel and gives a glimpse of a humorous undertone.
Overall this book is an un-putdownable epic saga mixing mythology of the past and converting it with the advances of the new.

This thrilling novel is action-packed from cover to cover. Each book in this series is stand-alone. However, I highly recommend each book in the series because they are truly dynamic! Millions of years ago, several alien airships had come to Earth and mostly are buried in ice. Leave it to Alex Cave to discover another spacecraft … but this time he's in for a big surprise. There is life on this one, very similar to humans as exhibited by a beautiful woman with special powers … her name is Pandora. Here, again, Alex Cave is destined to save our world. This book is packed with surprises, it is riveting to read and one can't even take a break while reading it. Author James Corkill is truly blessed with a wonderful talent to attract and please his readers with gripping sci-fi stories. I recommend readers enjoy all his remarkable novels.

Another fast-paced, suspenseful work by James Corkill. Well worth the wait. New situations and characters keep the action moving. I couldn't put it down, reading it in one sitting. Keep 'em coming, James! :)

James Corkill does it again with still another book in the Alex Cave series of high speed sci-fi action-adventures. It's one of those novels that intrigues the reader while dragging him along at a heart-pounding pace with enough twists and turns to keep you guessing and unwilling to put the book down before you have finished it. If you are into sci-fi, and into action-adventures, you owe it to yourself to check out this new author and the series he has created. What I liked best about Corkill's latest is the fact that it was just plain enjoyable, and I kept wondering what would happen next. I hope he never gets tired of writing these. Thumbs up to a fun read.
