I was really excited I got the opportunity in Library Thing Member Giveaway to read and review this book. I am a fan of poetry. Poetry describes beauty but also describes pain in the most profound way. I was also a bit concern, because Poetry can be a bit difficult to understand. I really liked this poetry book. I can honestly say I was captivated by it. I related completely with some of the poems. Some of my favorites were: "Meaning of life", "Breathe", "Pursuit of Happiness" and "Hold me in the slippery road. While reading this poetry book I really felt the author's pain through her words and her life experiences. That's something that is really important when you are reading a book. You should be able to disconnect from reality and put yourself in the author's shoes. This book did that for me. I was really overwhelmed with sadness, pain, struggle, vulnerability. But also, i got this feeling of woman empowerment not willing to get beaten down by life. Poetry is usually not easy to comprehend but yet I felt the author's need to vent and to put into words those bottled up emotions in a way that was easy to understand the message behind her words. The author's writing style is very easy to comprehend. I was pleasantly surprised of how well I was able to catch the author's message and emotions. This book can attract all kind of audiences. We all can learn something from Poetry and we all can relate somehow with it as well.

Heart-breaking !
Awesome !

This poetry book consists of poems merely based on sadness, loneliness, racial discrimination and Philosophies of various situation.
Although, It comprises excellent verse where reader would stop and started analyzing various things as per the vivid rhythm and flow of poems. Nonetheless Darkness & sadness how it affects a person and their instinct was clearly depict in few poems beautifully.

Recommended to Poetry lovers ! !

Some good lines-
*"But you hold the wrong tackle
You don’t know me
Because you didn’t make me
You wish that I was anchored
Anchored to the haven
But I will sail the river of life,
Even without wind"

*"If you told me that life is not easy
If you told me that people hurt others
If you told me family is overrated
If you told me that school

*School is an exercise to servanthood
I would have scoffed and run away
Because I wouldn’t have known"
