"This book addresses issues such as cloning, human rights, abuse and freedom. It's, at times, an emotional read because it's something that the reader could really picture happening; however, we all hope it never does. It's engaging with non-stop action, though the book focuses more on its characters. I especially appreciated that though the subject matter is mature, the author treated it with delicacy. The most sensitive parts are left to the imagination, and my mind filled in the gaps quite well. I absolutely recommend this story to anyone that enjoys a great science fiction loaded with suspense. However, if you are one that enjoys more science than character development, you might want to give this a skip."

"To be blunt, I could say I’ve been “tricked” into reading a genre I’m trying to stay away from, but I can’t say I’ve got any regrets at all. In fact, I think I even have to thank the author for enabling me to get over my qualms and predilections.The blunders and misdeeds had been so well-portrayed as they are – abhorring – enough to emphasise utmost care and deliberation to address those perceived disadvantages when coming up with future technological innovations. The realisations should really make us stop and think before we “cross any lines” as well as encourage us to steer clear of decisions that veer towards what’s already inhumane and cruel. I’m amazed at how technology could make our every day better, but we should have fail-safes, safety precautions, and other measures against risks and misuse of what powers it could wield as well. The future could be better; we can work together today gleaning from lessons of the past towards ensuring that. This work has more to its story, indeed. I'd be looking forward to "Homecoming," the next book in the series."

"In Project Tau, a genre novel by Jude Austin, we are presented with a coming of age story with heavy doses of scientific intrigue and bleeding edge advancement that wraps Kalin, and the reader, deeply in a harrowing quest for knowledge and redemption. The title for the novel seems to this reader to be appropriate, combining a sense of the scientific and trippy possibilities, giving readers a sense of the genre and tone as well as a hint of the underlying themes to be addressed in the work to come. The overall design of the book is professional. It features an interior layout that is clean and clear with text design on each page that is readable and crisp. Also, the cover image for the book is decidedly futuristic and conveys a clear sense of genre connection while utilizing and intriguing central image. The narrative is tightly woven and compelling, moving at a fast pace while still allowing the reader to experience a true depth of characterization as they develop a full appreciation of the events as they take place. The characters here are fully realized, vivid and alive, and often do surprising things – or do / say things that are very human, which can be rare. I especially like Kalin, who reacts in a human and believable way throughout, even when confronted with information that causes a seismic shift to the previously accepted worldview."

Though there is some violence and abuse, Jude Austin does well at keeping the graphic nature to a minimum.[...]
