Return to Widows Hollow
If your heart can be broken, Elza will break it time and again in Return to Widows Hollow, book II of The Appalachian Trilogy. Prepare to fall in love with four-year-old Daniel Ruddy, the flood survivor who steals your heart as he joins your favorite characters from JHEs international best-selling and beloved Rosemillion. The fairy tale becomes a nightmare for Rose, Suzanne and Bennett who leave their Eastern Kentucky homes for the highlands of West Virginia to help a foreign-born friend establish a medical clinic in Appalachia’s rural mountains. With the locals of Wolf Laurel Creek, the friends suffer the horrors and the aftermath of the worst flood in West Virginia history. The tragedies mount for Rose who learns, first, that her fiancé, Jan, is MIA and then that he has been killed in Vietnam. Enter Quayle Johnson, the ruggedly handsome Train Man. Obsessed with Rose and tortured by his unspoken love for her, he hopes to become the reason that she will not return to Widows Hollow. Bring your hankies and join Elza on a guided tour that twists and winds through the best and worst of human emotions, a journey that will leave you soggy with tears, desperate with hope and shouting with cheers, a journey whose final destination answers the questions; will Rose and friends survive the challenges of the West Virginia Highlands? Will Rose return to Widows Hollow?

Five stars Surviving Disaster Through Faith Friendship & Fried Chcken By D Noelon

...This author weaves the web of the story's characters
sometimes as a sun spider & next as a black widow
the story evolves like peeling an onion & quickly moves to peeling away a million "Rose" petals. Just when you think you have peeled away enough to know what will happen, the author shows you another layer. Comedy, tragedy, devastation, faith, trust & history combine to make you feel like you are part of the characters and the community. Elza is so word descriptive that you fall in love with reading all over again.
My mind exploded with the words showing me every character, every location, every event so clearly that I could almost taste the fried chicken. It was like a full running feature film in my head and heart. Wonderfully and brilliantly written. Thank you for sharing your talent with the world. I await part 3 and know it will be well worth the wait.

Absolutely Fantastic Reading

I have read both books of the Appalachian Trilogy by J. Helen Elza. They are "spell binding", great story lines, love, kindness, family, surviving hardships, all rolled together. Can't wait for the final edition.
