Revolutionary Anna is based on a true story. On the way, a congressman recruits her as a courier. She must ride for her life when a strange man tries to steal the message she is carrying to General Washington! Years later, in 1825, her grandchildren ask for a story, and Anna’s tale holds them spellbound. The children’s questions about their grandmother’s daring ride and their grandfather’s experiences as a soldier at Valley Forge drive the narrative. At the end, the family reflects on the price of freedom and how far the country has come since the war.
