Robotastic by Sari Karplus is a fantastic tale of finding friends in the most unlikely of places. I went into this story thinking it was just going to be a fun story about a boy and his robot, and was pleasantly surprised to see it take a deeper, more meaningful turn. For a society that has become so reliant on technology, it’s a refreshing change to see a book ABOUT technology turn so personal. A great read for the littlest robot fans out there (and really, aren’t we all robot fans) and for kids who are feeling a little isolated and need reassurance that their new bestie is on the way! I really loved this book, and I’m sure you will, too!
“Such a clever book that covers friendship, creativity, the entrepreneurial spirit, inventiveness, loneliness, and overcoming challenges in a unique way. Fans of robots, friendship stories, and the delightful illustrations inside will love returning to this book frequently.”
Alf wants a best friend and uses his birthday wish to get the ball rolling. However, Alf didn’t want to take any chances, so he purchased a Robot friend (Max) and from there his journey begins. Things are going well, but Alf realizes Max needs some important modifications. Word spread quickly and Alf needs some help to keep up with the demands of his new creations. Alf doesn’t realize it yet, but he’s about to see that birthday wish come true!
“Robotastic!” really hits the mark on so many levels. The text and illustrations are near perfect, and the story is well crafted. It’s an easy read for parents looking for a story that wraps in creativity, friendship, and kindness. Friendship should come in all shapes and sizes. Author Sari Karplus delivers this message in a soft way through superb storytelling. My daughter (5) adored the book and hopes that we get to see more adventures of Alf and Jake! This is an “instant classic,” and give it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars! This book truly is, “Robotastic!”
