Meet Archimedes, part witness protection, part Aladdin’s Genie. They make lottery winners disappear. It’s a small and complex team. Ex-copper’s son Fred, with a woman in every county. Not-so-secret lovers Tony and Beth. Ice cool Simon, at work he’s the über boss, at home he’s being check-mated into marriage by his girlfriend. Veronica (Nikki) Doyle tells the story. Nikki, former rich kid, youngest team member and un-cooperative witness to a recent brutal bank robbery is about to learn the hard way that appearances can be deceptive.
Nikki’s newest clients, brash Marvin Potts and wife Lydia want to get out of London fast. Nikki spirits the pair away to the quiet backwater of Storr Downs, her old home. Marvin repays her by flashing his money about and taking a mistress. Back in London evidence surfaces that links Potts to robbery, identity laundering and murder. Nikki will have to put more than her job on the line to prevent another killing.
