The plan is in place. By the time they realize she won’t be back, Maggie will be in another state, in a new life about to run again from new dangers. When Peg realizes why her daughter has run away, she knows she needs to find her quickly or they may never see each other again. Peg’s missing journal from when she ran away herself is the only clue to Maggie’s whereabouts. The story is told from both points of view.
