Reviews
Jennifer R. McDonald, The Veilwalker Trilogy

I had the opportunity to read Seeking the Sun without knowing what exactly I was in for. But I read Crawford’s Chains of Prophecy and loved it, so I thought why not?
I am so glad I did!
Seeking the Sun is a captivating story of lost love, reclaimed passion, and tragic betrayal.
We begin with Daphne Gianakos as her college life is interrupted by strange, violent dreams of a man she’s never met. When that man suddenly appears in waking life, things become very interesting.
This book is far more than just another romance novel. Daphne travels from Earth to the heavens in an epic style quest that constantly surprises and delights. Along the way we meet seers, nymphs, gods, and much more as the author spins a flawless incorporation of both Greek and Christian mythology.
Daphne makes for a great heroin. She grows throughout the story, evolving as she’s propelled into both exciting and dire situations. Though Apollo has been adapted in other paranormal books I’ve read, I found his character to be fresh and original.
I couldn’t put it down until I devoured every last word. Recommended for anyone who likes a fantastical adventure in their PNR.
