Sharing Daddy is the story of a boy who describes the things he admires in his father. When his dad is called to a work emergency, he has to leave right away. This makes the boy sad because he wants to continue sharing experiences with his father, but his mother explains the importance of his father's work. Roberta Borg has based her book on a situation that is becoming more common as emergency services are increasingly needed in our society. Children may miss their parents, but fulfilling responsibilities is important. If adults set a good example and explain the reason for their actions, children will be motivated to contribute to our society as well. I loved the drawings as they are very attractive, use calming colors, and are detailed. All the images have a gentle look, and the love of a child for his father can be readily seen. It is gratifying that there are books like this that explain the importance of emergency work to children. With Sharing Daddy, they will continue to feel loved and will understand that if a father or a mother has to leave a game unfinished because of their work, it is because it is necessary to help others. Despite the interruption, love will still be there. Roberta Borg empathetically teaches that emergency work is a great responsibility and that these jobs should be valued.
