Sheba's Song
Magaly Heriveaux, author
Do you want to know the truest meaning of friendship and family? All you have to do is ask Sheba. Through her many experiences at Hickory Brook Creek, she has learned the truest meaning of love from her first foster mother, Ms. Benson. Every now and then Sheba still has the vague, sweet memory of Ms. Benson singing to her heart: "Sheba, my answer to my dreams. You are as graceful as the breeze. Sheba, you are as priceless as can be, my one and only gem from now 'till eternity." These same words are the ones that helped her make lifelong friendships from around the globe with Chante, Tabitha-Ming, Asher-Marie, Chloe, Nadege, Luz, Zaida, Ambrosia, and her "one and only" sister, Zoey. These same words also helped her appreciate the goodness of Tammy, Mr. Higgins, and Mr. Manchester. They also helped her endure the antics of Geraldine, Ms. Beastly, Ms. Cederman, and of course, the infamous "Dungeon Lady" Ms. Dooms-day! Under extraordinary circumstances, Sheba used her challenges to find even more happiness in the quest of sisterhood, family, and togetherness.
