In a tale that masterfully blends spirituality and history, a thoughtful teenager experiences dreams of life as a Viking in tenth century Scandinavia.
From childhood, Sigurd exhibits a natural curiosity and awareness. As a teen in Minnesota, he begins a meditation practice that helps him to open his heart and mind. He becomes interested in his ancestry, learns to speak Swedish, and heads to California to study Scandinavian history and archeology at Berkeley. As he goes deeper into his studies and meditations, his dreams of life as a tenth century Viking become more vivid. But Sigurd is not a typical Viking, he is not into raid and pillage, he is interested in exploration, making maps, and a spiritual quest. In his Viking dreams, Sigurd travels by longboat to destinations across Europe, where he meets opportunities and challenges that will test his resolve, and change the way he sees the world.
Meanwhile contemporary Sigurd wonders if these are just imagined dreams, or visions of a past life that actually happened. He heads to Sweden hoping to find the truth. There, while working in an archeological dig in his ancestral home, he finds artifacts that tug at his memory, and clues that make everything fall into place.
Sigurd’s journeys are filled with adventure, spirit, and mystery, and they bring the past and present together in extraordinary ways.
