Snowman Paul Save Kate's Birthday
Yossi Lapid, author
Kate’s birthday party is tomorrow and preparations are in full swing. But then, oops, Dan makes a big mistake! He “accidentally” eats his sister’s birthday cake. Can Snowman Paul help Dan save Kate’s special day? Will Kate be able to forgive Dan? And what will Mom do when she finds the empty cake tray? Written in rhyme, the Snowman Paul book series celebrates the magic of winter through the evolving friendship between a young boy and his mischievous snowman. Whimsical and humorous, the stories also touch upon serious themes such as friendship, peer pressure, family relationships and values. Vivid and expressive illustrations complement the narrative and bring the stories alive.

5.0 out of 5 starsLovely book for siblings

By Vanessa Bettencourt on November 16, 2016Format: Paperback Verified Purchase

What a charming and beautiful book. The illustrations are gorgeous. The story is simple and at the same time gives us many lessons. In this rhyming book, Kate's birthday is almost ruined by her brother's gluttony, but he makes for it with the help of the Paul who is a great character and in the end, all ends well. I love their expressions and the soft colors the most.

In this third volume in Yossi Lapid’s clever books, written in the kind of poetry kids like, about the friendship between Dan and a snowman, Dan makes a terrible mistake, and is crying. Without thinking, Dan eats the entire cake that Mom had prepared for his sister Kate’s birthday tomorrow. He needs help. He doesn’t know what to do.
His friend Paul the snowman has an idea. The two work all night to create what Paul thinks will satisfy Kate. They build a wonderland that will not only thrill Kate in the story but also children who read the tale.
Children will be thrilled to see what is in the wonderland and what is Kate’s reaction to it. Will she forget the cake that she had been looking forward to eating? If not, what or who saves the day?
