Set in the context of a global clash of paradigms between an Indonesian terrorist’s mission and an American Congressman’s peacemaking effort, a poor Muslim-majority neighborhood in Indonesia holds the keys to who will win. Some in the neighborhood are making efforts to understand the roots of the Muslim-Christian divide and build new bridges across it, while others are ripe targets for terrorist recruiting. A church burning tragedy produces a new villain (a teenage boy) and two unlikely heroes (his ex-terrorist Muslim father and the neighborhood’s only Christian woman). When the boy becomes a suicide bomber in an assassination attempt on the Congressman, it’s up to the two unlikely heroes to save the day.
