\t\tThe Golden Valley School District’s budget coordinator is shot and left to decay in the high school’s abandoned darkroom by an unknown female. Unbeknownst to the murderess, the victim had placed a large manilla folder full of budget reports on a messy desk in the school’s main office moments before his demise. The budgets show someone has been embezzling money from the school district. \tRuth Willows and her grandfather trailer several horses from their ranch to the local university’s barn for use in a rodeo. Ruth meets a very sexy cowboy, Ken Silver, and they fall head over heels. \tRuth must complete her senior year of high school while also participating in the College for High School Seniors program. On the first day of high school, girls are buzzing about the sexy new English teacher. Ruth faints and crashes into a bookcase when she sees Ken is the new teacher. Ken confronts a mortified Ruth in the ER and announces they can’t continue dating. \tRuth not only discovers the dead accountant but also accidentally picks up the file he left in the school’s office. The murderess plans how best to take the money she’s been embezzling and escape to Mexico. She is forced to kill again when her plans are discovered. \tOn the eve of Ruth’s eighteenth birthday, Ken and Ruth reunite, planning to date secretly. Ruth takes the accountant’s file to the sheriff. As the authorities investigate, the murderess is forced to kill a third time to protect her cover. \tThe town celebrates spring with a masked ball. An unlikely group of revelers amasses in the dance’s parking lot: friends, Ken’s co-workers, Ruth, and Ken. Putting all the clues together, Ruth quietly realizes the murderess’s identity. \tLikewise, the murderess realizes that Ruth has figured out the truth. Before leaving for Mexico, she lures Ruth to the high school early one morning, knocks her out, binds her, and sets the school on fire. Ruth is rescued moments before the building collapses.
