New FAVORITE book of 2015? Yep – I think so!!! This book is 6+++ stars for me, mostly because it threw me for such a loop, completely had me guessing the wrong thing until the very end and, of course, raised all kinds of hotness with the sex scenes, but especially the fantastic quotes. “That’s it. Keep squeezing my c**k, baby. Take it all.” Um, yeah, okay Taz –just tell me where you want me! ;)
We start the book basically where we left off in G-Men, The Series (if you haven’t read this yet, pick it up on Pre-Order now!) with Taz and his wife, Lindsey, enjoying their blissfully happy life together. Then, as the Prologue states, it all changes in the blink of an eye or, rather, with the sip of a beer. Taz is recruited for a secret mission because of his background and the circumstances of who the FBI is hunting. I agree with him when he says he would have not taken the assignment if he knew what was going to happen. Hindsight is definitely 20/20 in this instance and you know something is about to go very wrong.
“Is he alive?” Oh my, this seriously broke my heart. The ultimate fear of losing a loved one/spouse came through with so much emotion in this moment that you couldn’t help but be affected. You knew right then and there that it would be a struggle for everyone involved to get back to a ‘normal’ life. “He seems like a stranger…like someone else.” Not only does this stir up sadness, but it also opens up so many other avenues with which the plot line can take. I was nervous with the introduction of new characters, but had no idea that Andrea would throw me that off course. Throughout this entire book, you think you know what lies around the next bend, but you really have no idea. I had a few jaw dropping moments and ones where I was literally yelling at my Kindle.
What Andrea does with all of her characters is amazing. I felt so connected with each one of them. I laughed, I cried, I felt as completely hopeless as the h at times. This, to me, is the sign of a truly great book. The fact that she stirs so many emotions inside you throughout is what kept me intrigued from start to finish.
Like the G-Men series, Taz just proves to me what a fabulous author Andrea is and how she can transform characters, keep you guessing with all of the secrets and keep you on the edge with the suspense. I just hope that Ms. Smith decides to give us some more G-Men – I simply can’t get enough!
The first book that I read from Andrea Smith was Love Plus One of the G-Men Series and I was immediately in love with Taz and Lindsey. I thought their story was complete when they finally got their HEA in book 2. But the amazing Andrea Smith treated all those Taz fans with one more book and what a story it was. Taz will highlight and showcase what REAL LOVE entails. Get ready for a book that will have interweave themes of forgiveness, acceptance, love, family, friendship, revenge, trust, and suspense into the story line.
In Taz, we are reunited with the Matthew family once again and what a story it is. Taz and Lindsey are happily married with two beautiful children. After several years of marriage, the fire and desire they have for each other is still burning bright. There is no doubt and question that their love is REAL. It is passionate, raw, sexy, and beautiful. So when Taz is recruited to go undercover for a secret covert mission, he knew he couldn't tell Lindsey what this mission entails since it was of national security to keep it a secret. But what Taz didn't expect was unforeseen circumstantial events to take place that will test the strength of his marriage when he returns. So can Lindsey and Taz overcome the obstacles that stands in their way as they navigate and survive the many surprising twist of events? Taz will soon find himself in a battle of what is more important. Work or family??
I must say that Andrea Smith completely shocked me with the surprising twist of events that she was able to insert into this book. Ms. Smith was able to make this book so RAW and REALISTIC with the heavy and sensitive topics she incorporated. She didn't sugarcoat anything and I love that. I love a book that can make you vulnerable and allow you to feel the many emotions of her characters. A book that can make you FEEL for the characters is what makes a great book. And Taz is a book that is filled with so many emotions, suspense, angst, drama, and so many twist and turns that you can't really say much about the book without spoiling it. All, I can say Ms. Smith will wickedly have you devouring this book as you are put on an emotional and suspenseful journey of Taz and Lindsey.

Taz is the latest release in the G-Men series by Andrea Smith. I have to say this book took me completely by surprised and rendered me speechless. Andrea did something gutsy, unheard of , and risky. She took this couple to a complete new level. They were already living their HEA. Readers were happy with their story. They were invested in this couple's journey. This couple built a solid foundation and were living the dream. Then with one stroke of the pen ( or should I say keyboard) Andrea brought their world crumbling down. It was like a tornado whooshing through their life and leaving despair and devastation. The only thing they had to hang onto was the solid foundation they had worked so diligently to build.
The book starts out with Taz going about his normal day. He is reveling in the family he and Lindsey have created. He adores his wife and loves his children. Life is good until he gets one phone call. A phone call that makes him meet Slate for a beer. One sip of beer and his life is changed. He is recruited for a sensitive mission because of his background, his expertise, and the person the FBI is hunting. It will be the beginning of the storm that will tear his life apart. It could ruin his relationship with Lindsey and destroy his family.
Without saying too much more and giving a ton of spoilers away I will say this. Taz said he would of never taken this mission if he knew what was going to happen to his life. He would of walked away. Hindsight is definitely not conducive in this situation. The moment he took this mission the reader had a sense that something was going to go very wrong.
The emotional trauma that all the characters go through is devastating. The destruction of Taz and Lindsey's life broke my heart. Andrea had the guts to break these very strong people. But they reared their heads and proved to her that they were stronger than what she originally created. They were not going to let her take away their HEA. Instead they redefined the meaning and made it more. They rebuilt their love, reassembled their life, and made their own destiny.
I have to commend Andrea for the bold writing. It takes a talented author to pull this off. I was truly amazed.
I highly recommend Taz by Andrea Smith. Although it is part of the G-Men series, I think a reader new to this series could easily pick this book up and become as involved in the story as the seasoned reader of this series.
To date the G Men series has been exceptional and I loved everything I have read about Taz, up until now. I was slightly apprehensive about him getting his own book because I didn’t want anything to diminish what I thought of him
Needless to say that I am beyond happy because my man not only has his own story to tell and as difficult as it is, I thought that the Andrea Smith, gave me, the man I wanted to read about and didn’t sugar coat either him or his story.
The book was written with remarkable tact and diplomacy, it took situations and subjects which for some could most definitely push the wrong buttons and gave me a story that I not just wanted to read but that I wanted to devour.
Andrea Smith produced a story that was nothing short of remarkable but was emotionally draining.
Taz and Lindsey were fabulous together but what was more brilliant as the depth that the author managed to instil into their tale.
This was a story that was deliciously broken and yet she gave it beauty and soul and afforded it the attention to detail that meant that I as the reader could forgive in some respects the fact that at times, I needed to examine myself and the reaction that I was feeling towards the story.
I think that the author took the untold, the whispered and the questionable and gave it the chance to grow – to prove that opinion be damned, every story deserves its chance to be heard.
I found this a tough read but one that I am glad I persevered with and I give absolute credit to Andrea Smith for being one tough cookie and standing by her man – because Taz was worth every word she wrote.
