The Adventures of the Salamander is a story about a young salamander named Slippy, whose village is invaded by mean-spirited lizards. The sequence of stories chronicle Slippy's many adventures and difficulties as he attempts to find help and rescue his family and fellow amphibians. With this situation, the books also address many important themes including: social justice, science, good manners, cheese, environmental concerns, giant purple sea monsters, time-travel and many other things that are of concern to children. Book II comprises the 5th, 6th and 7th parts of this 10 part series.
