When I was approached by this author for a review, I was a little bit skeptical. I absolutely love finding ANY author out there that has fresh talent, and an incredibly story. However, books for this age group are just something I don't have much experience with. Or so I thought. The story quite literally grabbed me, and I found myself unable to put the book down, because WOW, to everything!!!
The story is so mysterious and interesting. The plot never lags. The description is vivid, gripping, and fresh. The description, particularly, is wonderful. I was just so surprised and pleased, and if there's one other thing I could say it's that my siblings and I would have LOVED this book as kids!!!
All around, it was just so wonderfully done. It brought back childhood memories of the books my mom would read, and the wild adventures I was taken on. Don't miss out on the story your kids will go crazy for. I may have been a little skeptical going in, but I was wowed by the time I finished.
Fantastic author, FANTASTIC book!
Nashville-based writer and former Winchester resident Bo Boswell has written the first of what he anticipates to be a series of adventure books for young adults with Winchester featured as the setting.
Boswell’s recently released book, “The Century Cube,” is set in Winchester and mentions such places as the Franklin County Courthouse as well as the Oldham Theater, Dry Creek Beach, Broadview Elementary School and more.
Growing up on a farm in the Broadview community where his parents, Ben and Regina Boswell, still reside provided lots of material to include in the books.
Boswell, who resides in Brentwood with his wife and two sons, enjoys regular visits back home.
“While [Winchester] has grown and changed since I was young, it’s still kept so much of its small town appeal and charm,” he said. “That’s what I love most about it, and I’ve tried to capture that sense of hospitality and nostalgia in my writing."
