The Coming Age of Personal Religion
Paul Snider, author
Paul Snider's book, The Coming Age of Personal Religion, is a superb blending of higher thinking and practical living. It links our free will, human spirituality and God's love. While respecting traditionally organized religions, the author explains that the newly emerging era of religion will witness increasing numbers of individual persons reaching out to God personally, without the intervention of a ruling clergy of a formalized religion of authority. Each person is destined to discover that he or she can search for, and find, truth, beauty and goodness -- the riches of the mind and fruits of the soul -- through their own efforts. In other words, Paul Snider believes that we may connect human self-consciousness directly with God-consciousness. He goes on to detail how this may be done and how it may then be socialized with our fellow mortals in spiritual unity, not theological uniformity. The author candidly elaborates on the point that the personal effort to find the Source and Center of the Universe is not easy. It is a challenging, but deeply rewarding, quest for God. This is an exciting work of spiritual literature, expansive cosmically, yet personal, in scope and depth.

A potentially life-changing bookReviewed in the United States on November 10, 2017Verified Amazon PurchaseOther readers of this book have left some thoughtful reviews above. This is a great book, a thought-provoking book. To me, a good book is entertaining; easy to get lost in. However, a great book usually present new ideas or perceptions that may be difficult to read and understand. Books delving into religion are almost by definition, controversial and often subject to misunderstanding. Not infrequently a great book has new or potentially controversial ideas that require me to stop and think, research, rethink more, and eventually I may change at least a portion of one of my basic beliefs or find myself reconfirming one of my basic understandings. In the end, a great book gives me at least one new, life-changing idea or perception. I may remember the book, but it is the new idea or perception that lives on forever.Such was my experience with Paul Snider's The Coming Age of Personal Religion. The book contained many statements and concepts that were thoughtful. One comes to mind first - Paul Snider wrote “The ancestral mind was very much preoccupied with convincing God he should do your will and avoid doing you harm. If you carried out the rituals and ceremonies just right, with exact precision, it might be possible to manipulate God to do your will.” Most religions, and most of us individually, have grown past this understanding of our relationship to God. Paul’s writing reminds me that we humans each have a unique level of development and awareness, that we grow both individually, and even collectively through organized religion, at different speeds according to our abilities and our understandings. We find that we are in this together, each responsible for each other.Paul Snider also noted that “God could have created us as perfect beings with a single thought. But he had a better idea…” A basic thought is that each of us, no matter how great our errors, is a son or daughter of God. We have a duty and obligation to God and to ourselves, to help each other along the way. The Coming Age of Personal Religion contains many concepts that you might enjoy contemplating in the light of your ever-changing personal understanding of our journey through this earthly existence. Reading Paul’s book just might change you (and cause you to change someone else in some way, large or small). Paul Snider’s book changed my thinking in several areas – I am glad I read it. Paul’s book and ideas will affect my behavior(s) going forward in some small manner, and hopefully that will affect others also. Like the butterfly effect, a small push is required to start a chain of events, and Paul’s book can help us make some significant changes to the world. (Frank)

This book is the distillation of a lifetime of searching, studying, meditating, praying and most of all, experiencing. Paul Snider explains to us in loving detail the many lessons and truths he has learned throughout his long, continuing journey Godward. Perhaps you are agnostic, unsure of all things spiritual. Perhaps you are a seasoned religionist, long familiar with all things of God. Perhaps you are somewhere in between, a believer with many questions of why things are they way they are and how to proceed forward. Wherever you stand, you will find here words of wisdom to help you in your journey, to aid you in understanding and to nourish and encourage you in your spiritual growth.

Paul Snider says in the book, "And all along the way there will always be someone to emulate, someone who has already attained the higher thresholds of personal growth." For me, Paul himself has been one of those people. His sincerity, humility, humor and loving nature are a shining example to me of the person I wish to become. I have learned much from him in the years I have known him and now you have the opportunity, through his book, to share in that experience.

To all who genuinely seek God and desire to understand him more fully, I highly recommend this book. (Tony)

I can't say enough about this wonderful book! It really made my day

Reviewed in the United States on December 29, 2017

I can't say enough about this wonderful book! It really made my day. I was so pleased to find someone who was able to put down with such clarity, things that I had felt, or thought, and wanted to say before. Also what a joy to find a book that answered so many questions about the types of things people question these days about the efficacy of having a personal religious or spiritual life. What a difference it makes having a personal relationship with God, in appreciating life, other people and finding peace and joy in everyday things. This book was clear and concise at the same time covered many deeply important issues. I can't believe he said so much in so few pages. I say job well done!! I'll be giving this book out as gifts to many friends who are truth seekers for years to come. (Christilyn)

5.0 out of 5 stars The coming age of personal religion by Paul Snider

Normally when I read a book I keep a pen handy and highlight or underline outstanding sentences and thoughts. I noticed very soon that I would be highlighting practically every other sentence. An immence amount of thought and deep understanding are revealed and shared in its pages. The author reveals an understanding and relationship with and of God without "preaching". The section "The Greatest Role Model of All Time" is worth making the book a part of anyone's library. I personally am deeply committed to the idea of Jesus being that role model. What a wonderful world it could be if more people made Jesus their role model. Mr. Snider displays a deep understanding of what God's relationship is toward us, and what our relationship should be toward him. He takes the "deep" and brings it to the surface. I hope their are more writings coming from Mr. Snider. (Calvin)
