Great adventure story for the animal lover. Lots of colorful characters, beautiful illustrations and many twists and turns along the way.

A friend shared this book link with me so I decided to read a little bit. I was very quickly drawn into the characters and the pictures. So much happened in such a short amount of time and I was hooked! I had to find out what happened to J.J.Pips and his friends and family! It was a very rich story. Very touching, funny and thrilling!

J.J. Pips is a young British bulldog who lives with his human family in the Victorian kentish countryside. When his beloved brother, Arty, is dognapped by a press gang, J. J. doesn't hesitate to race to the rescue and finds himself on the adventure of a lifetime, by train and then by ship. There's a great deal of fast-paced action packed into this slim volume, enhanced by full page colour illustrations by Chris Hopkins. J. J. is a wonderful character who warms the heart.

J.J. Pips might be the antidote for whatever it is that we are going through. Leave it to a dog like J.J. to elevate us from the jaded frustrations that seem to be a part of...everything. Kids will love J.J. for the straightforward kindness and 'dogged determination' that is so important to young minds. Adults will love it for the irreverent humor and chance encounters.
