The Fixer: The Naked Man

“Katerina—I need some help. Be a good girl and come over here and I’ll make it worth your while.”

It’s an offer NYC college student Katerina Mills should refuse. But how can she?

A desperate situation....

After ditching her cheating lover (and boss), she’s stuck in dead end temp jobs. Her dad just ditched her mom and his promise to pay Kat's college tuition bill.

She has two weeks to come up with $14,000 or she's out of her apartment, out of school, and out of luck.

A dangerous world....

Katerina falls into a job as a "fixer” for New York City's wealthy and privileged men. They have problems they need “fixed,” quick and on the QT, and they’re willing to pay.

If Kat can’t fix someone else’s problems, she can’t fix her own. Will she come out on top or is she in over her head?

I Love Smart Books

Katerina is a pretty, witty 23 year old trying to make her way in a world she knows nothing about. Having to find $14,000 tuition fees for her Law degree, pay her bills, put food on the table and fed up with her two-timing "schmoozy" boss, Philip, she decides to quit her job and set up as a "fixer" which involves making people's problems disappear with no questions asked and a very big fee at the end!

When Katerina completes her first assignment with relative ease she makes the decision to join "The Company" (her unofficial employers) on a full-time basis. However, there is only one clause, "once you're in...there's no coming back out!" Katerina now has the difficult task of trying to put together useful contacts in order to complete the series of assignments that are about to come her way.

Is she really ready to become someone who can clear up other people's mess? and what about of she can't complete the task or gets caught? Katerina doesn't have the time to dwell on such pressuring thoughts and feelings, she only has one thing on her mind "get in, get the job done and get out"....ALIVE!!

This book was exciting, gripping and funny all at the same time. Initially, Katerina presents as a naïve wallflower from a small town who is caught up in the racy lifestyle of the big NYC, but as the story goes on she comes into her own and proves that she really does have what it takes to get the job done! I really liked the short chapters as they made the book much easier to read and it kept the story moving at a quicker pace.

Some of the other characters such as Doc (the medic who can get you anything you need), Winter (the OCD redundant burglar), Jasmine ("The Company's" main contacter) and Lisa ("The company's" recruiter) make the story even more enjoyable with the trials and tribulations of their individual relationships with Katerina.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it to anyone who is interested in crime, suspense and with a splash of humour. I can't wait for the next edition!!
