The Girl From Chapel Hill by Vanester M. Williams follows Laura's present life with her husband, Drue, and Laura's gory past. As Laura is coming out of the store, a stranger appears in the parking lot, shocking her with the things he told her. Things that Laura knows are true. This stranger, in addition to the phone calls and letters she is receiving, leaves Laura stressed and just plain scared. She decides to go some place to relax and rest while her husband is on a business trip. While there, she signs up for a women's conference that's going on at the hotel. Talking to a counselor at the conference, Laura learns things that can change her life. Tina assures Laura that love, forgiveness, and second chances can be hers if she wants it. She also explains to Laura the steps she needs to take in order to change. But will Laura commit to doing as Tina asks? Will she discover who is stalking her? You will find these answers and much more when you read this book.

The Girl From Chapel Hill is a mystery that keeps you wondering throughout the book. There are a few twists and turns that threw me off, so my whodunit guesses were mostly wrong! I like the way the characters were created and how the plot flowed so smoothly. Though this book is fiction, it reads like Christian non-fiction as well. There are lots of scripture references throughout, with the women's conference and Laura and Tina talking. They are all references to notes from the conference and a book Laura bought while there. I feel that as Laura is talking to Tina, she remembers her sweet mom and all of the things she taught her. Everyone needs a mom like this. I really didn't see the interesting ending coming. It took me by surprise. The whodunit didn't turn out as I thought. But it was great. If you enjoy Christian fiction and especially one with scripture references, you will love this book.

I was honored with an audio copy of The Girl From Chapel Hill. Narrator Lauren Henry does a very nice job with this book, but I would have liked a little more variation between the characters' voices and a little more dynamics throughout. I will say that Henry's voice was very smooth throughout and pleasing to listen to. The audio quality was very good and crystal clear. I encourage you to check out the audio version of this book.
