High school student Tony Schiavone struggles through relationships with girls and his father. Later, he embarks upon a two year quest to backpack his way throughout Europe. While traveling through the north of Ireland, he meets the beautiful and optimistic daughter of a pub owner. It is a coming-of-age tale that recounts the experiences and emotions of an American boy in a foreign land, and is based largely upon the real life journey of the author.
