The Last Giant: Transgression

Adult; Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Horror; (Market)

In the midst of the Dawn Sea lies the mighty island nation of Kalyria. It has stood as a beacon of light and hope to the world since its founding at the end of the Dim Times nearly four thousand summers ago, but now in the Summer of the World 6087, something evil is coming. It threatens not only Kalyria herself, but the future of all who call her home, be they stranger or island born. One such stranger is the young Giant, Menannon, exiled from his own land of Lornennog for the crime of laughter, who came with his father to the island when he was but five summers old. Here he found a home, a love and a future of bright promise as the first Giant to ever join the Harper’s Guild. Now, as evil enfolds Kalyria threatening not only his beloved father and she who has his heart in her keeping—Nirna, Kalyria’s Princess Royal—but the very land itself, Menannon finds himself caught in a tangled web of lies and stratagems, sorcery and madness, desperate tactics and disastrous results. A bitter choice looms in evil’s darkness: Who will live and who will die and who will choose between them?

"...brilliantly imagined and fully-developed...the writing was excellent...I'd love to read the next one!" --Samantha Ryan, Indie Book Reviewers.

"...it takes time for all the layers of the fantasy world to come into play...lesser authors will just dump everything on you at once ... better authors know to do it gradually and over time, [as] was done in The Last Giant: Transgression...very descriptive...never bored..." --Stacy Decker, Indie Book Reviewers.

"... enough action and conflict and plot twists and descriptive fantasy-world-building to keep you interested throughout ...." --J.T. Thomas, Indie Book Reviewers

"... demonstrates a strong and almost addicting narrative style and great attention to detail ...  kept me eagerly turning the pages of my Kindle late into the evening." --Claire Middleton, Indie Book Reviewers

"... I found myself sinking into this magical and creative world ... and found myself transported to another time and place altogether. The author has genuine talent in the fantasy realm, and is ... well-versed in the craft. --Karen Matthews, Indie Book Reviewers

U. S. Review of Books

US Review gives The Last Giant: Transgression 4 stars!

Following in the tradition of rich literary fantasy, this book dedicates as much time to acquainting the reader with the world in which it takes place as it does the main characters of the story. Not unlike The Lord of the Rings, this story takes its time getting to its destination, giving the audience plenty of information about the setting before unraveling it and introducing the conflict and action that accelerates in the second half. The scope of the story is massive and immersive, hooking readers early and intriguing them throughout the whole story, while laying the important groundwork for what is planned to be an expansive saga spanning fifteen volumes. Menannon is immediately likeable, which is not an easy task for a character that excels at nearly everything he applies himself to, but his level-headedness and calm, kind demeanor make him an instant favorite."To read the full review, use the link below.
