I liked this legacy tale to the Jules Verne 20,000 Leagues Under The Seas novel. Setting the origin of Captain Nemo as a Polish Count and the antagonist as Czarist Russia back to the original intent of the author and spinning it further to his son was entertaining. Verne's editor disliked the Polish/Russian narrative due to period political correctness and made Verne change Nemo to Prince Dakkar, from India and England the villain nation. I read this in one long session, I should have saved some for the next day, but my attention was held
Captivating from the very first page. Well-written prose, drawing the reader deeper and deeper into the story with never a dull moment. Following the exploits of the protagonist, who is himself stunned to learn of his relation to the 'infamous' Captain Nemo, I could SEE every person, every location through the words of the author. This is, indeed, a novel worthy of Jules Verne himself.
