The Quantum Contingent by Gregory R Simpson follows the story of a brother and sister spy duo as they work hard to protect the world from imminent doom. Set in 2028, Jack and Sarah are siblings working as spies with Quotient. The establishment takes help from quantum computing to save the day. However, they are not the only ones using quantum computing to their advantage. A rogue group called The Quantum Contingent has also mastered quantum computing and is hoping to attain the impossible - immortality. They want to achieve this goal, even if it means holding governments all over the world hostage until they get what they want. It is Jack and Sarah’s job to find out who their founder is and stop The Quantum Contingent before it is too late. But can they? 

It has been a long time since I read a good spy novel, so it was easy for me to pick up The Quantum Contingent. I love a spy thriller with over-the-top, futuristic technologies and gadgets, and author Gregory R Simpson didn’t disappoint. I was not aware of quantum computing and what it is capable of, but this novel has been a great educational experience for me. I loved how the story does not get technical but uses technology to further develop the plot. Jack and Sarah are the perfect partners for this story. They worked together incredibly well, they understand each other, and their synergy is on point. The descriptions are fun, the imagery is vivid, and the dialogues are exciting. The story progresses at a steady pace, develops perfectly, and lets the mystery behind the Quantum Contingent and their leader simmer before readers learn the truth. I loved it and highly recommend it!
