If you loved The Wolfe, Rise of the Defender, and The Dark One: Dark Knight, welcome to the original Le Veque epic Medieval saga of THE RED FURY. England and Scotland collide in this blockbuster tale of revenge, betrayal, hope, and passion.
1233 A.D. - A young woman forced to command her father’s battered Highlander army upon his death. Her only hope in saving her home, and her life, is with a fearsome mercenary called The Red Fury.
This deserves 10 Stars! This was an epic story that piqued my interest from the very beginning. Andrew d'Vant, the man they call The Red Fury is the best mercenary in all of England and Scotland. When a woman seeks his help he is initially intrigued, but also reminded of his past and he wishes to assist her. He feels this might help him atone for his past. He lives with this hurt in his heart everyday. When the Red Fury meets Josephine de Carron, the Countess of Ayr and Chief of Torridon Castle, he is amazed by the beautiful warrior woman. He really has no room for a woman in his life. He only has vengence and fury in his heart, which he is bound and determined to obtain. Helping this beauty will change his life and he is sure of this, the more he comes to know her.
Josephine, has realized she needs help keeping at bay her enemy clan neighbor. He has tried to breach and obtain Torridon castle since her father and brother's death. For the past 2 years, she and her 14 Knights and clan members have had to fight too frequently to keep them from taking over what belongs to her. When one of her Knights, the commander of her Army, suggests and recommends contacting the Red Fury to assist them she reluctantly agrees. She feels it is much better than the alternative. She knows it will be expensive, but if it can result in ending their current situation for good, then she knows she must do it. What she was not prepared for was to have her heart captured by The Red Fury.
This story entices you with the hero and heroine's pasts and present situations. All of the secondary characters will leave an imprint in your mind and possibly your heart. Here we have a story of Vengeance that needs to play out, a romance that gets stronger and stronger, strong fealty and loyalty, sacrifices, laugh out loud moments throughout, moments that will grasp your heart and also in epic battle that will make your knuckles go white.
This is an epic story in length and context. It is a keeper for me, one that will remain in my home library forever. This author did a fantastic job with this entire story. It kept me at the edge of my seat. I love when a story can make me do this. I highly recommend it!
