Beautiful, that is the first word that popped into my head when I started thinking about how I would write my review. Truthfully the imagery and the message that this book sends is beautiful, there were times that I thought if I closed my eyes I would be able to feel the sunshine in the meadow with Amanda or walk on the streets of the City of Lights! I want to recommend this story to anyone that is looking for something that will make them smile or wants to rediscover who they truly are. This book will encourage you to try new things, it will remind you that sometimes life sucks but staying true to yourself is important, but if you lose yourself in life's little setbacks you can always find yourself if you take the time to look. Amanda's journey gave her courage and confidence, it made her remember who she was before tragedy and betrayal knocked her down. My advice is to find a sunny spot, kick back for a little while and go on a retreat with Amanda

TDC Book Reviews

After a devastating year, Amanda is now ready to start her life over again.
She decides to go on a spiritual quest, to a shack in the mountains for a few days and just be one with herself. No rules, no responsibilities. When she returns to her life, she is ready to be done with the past and move on.

A sweet, uplifting story. Non-religious, which didn't make it preachy, but I was waiting for a conflict. It always seemed like the next phone call or next visit from her friends would bring more bad news that she would need to deal with ... but nope. Once the initial chapters are done with, and she goes on her quest, everything comes up roses for her. Her path to happiness is short, sweet and to the point - I wish the epilogue was longer though.
