The Shooter Act
Once upon a time, mass shooters achieved fame and infamy for their terrible misdeeds. But since the Shooter Act was passed, they get something else: a guarantee they’ll be forgotten. Now, it’s illegal to talk about or even speak the name of any of these killers. Their bodies are burned, and all evidence that they ever existed is destroyed. A punishment to fit the crime. But there are forces out there, elite and powerful entities, for whom the ability to silence someone so completely could have other advantages. When Jack Paulson, one of the Shooter Act’s creators, discovers evidence that the world’s largest corporation has framed an employee under the act, the implications are more terrifying than he ever imagined. As Jack’s investigation begins to unravel a cover-up around a string of autonomous car crashes, he finds himself on the wrong side of people who can make him disappear too. With time running out, he has only one option left. In a desperate effort to expose the truth, Jack goes to LAX on the busiest travel day of the year and pulls out a gun. To get everyone’s attention, he will become a shooter himself.
