Well written. Vivid word pictures of the characters and surroundings. Characters well intertwined. Interesting family dynamics! Grabs you right from the first page. Normally I'm not a fan of fiction, but love this book and looking forward to reading the next in the series.
Judith Keim writes intriguing stories about strong women in difficult situations, and The Talking Tree certainly fits the bill. Marissa Cole is a young woman struggling to move past a dark and mysterious childhood. Her quest for answers thrusts her into a world of money and intrigue, changing her life in ways she never imagined. Will her family's past haunt her forever and force her to give up everything she loves?
I look forward to reading the next book in this series, Sweet Talk, due out soon.
Loved this book.... Written very well - very descriptive - felt like I was there. Looking forward to the sequels!
Who doesn't love a good romance story filled with intrigue, particularly if it is as well-written as Judith Keim's "The Talking Tree?" Move past Chapter 1 and you begin to fall in love with Marissa for the young woman she is and all she represents... a young woman whose life is about to change on all fronts. If you are like me, I found it hard to put down as the story kept me entertained until the very end, still wanting more.
The best thing about this book is that it is the first in a trilogy regarding the Hartwell cousins - three beautiful, strong women who are everything you would want all our world's daughters to be. It is a beautiful book that I highly recommend.
