The Threads of Time
The Threads of Time Blurb Dave Crawford Here is the coming together of two very different worlds. The first as seen through the eyes of Rod a fighter pilot and Hydie a teenage girl, is one of spaceships, time travel, super computers and the weird outcomes from genetic engineering. Both become prisoners of war, both face great dangers. The other world is that of provincial peasants and an urban society with echoes of the nineteenth century. The peasant Zoahum, the victim of a local rebellion, finds himself the unwilling caretaker of a giant spaceship. Ghem the astronomer and his young daughter embark on a journey of discovery which becomes increasingly more terrifying. \tSo here is everything from space battles to cavalry charges and moronic clones to horse drawn carts. Each sections has a different theme but with a strong linking narrative with tales of betrayal, loyalty, chivalry, humour, revenge and love. Where will the threads be blown by the winds of time and who survives to be there at the final meeting place. \tNote to the reviewer. The Threads of Time is part of a science fiction series. The other books are: Corner Spiral and The Beyond the Silence trilogy. I've been careful to ensure that each of the 5 books could be read as an entity but with a lot of subtle cross-referencing. Sometimes the references are so obscure they would normally go unnoticed. The events on page 7 of Threads forms the bases of several chapters of The Nomads of Space the third book in the trilogy. The enemy spaceship that survives the opening sequence of the battle (page 7) was the M 462. Why did it survive, be it badly damaged, while the rest of the squadron was destroyed?
